An «urban pazo» is a house of higher standing than its neighbours, both in material — stone — and in the social rank of those who lived there (A Noia da memoria, Pedro García Vidal, 1990). These seigneurial houses are examples of Gothic civic architecture, remnants of one of the town’s most prosperous periods.

Casa da Xouba

A Gothic house with elegant pointed arches that continue the strong vertical line of the façade. As with the previous house, the front is built out over the street on an arcade.
