An «urban pazo» is a house of higher standing than its neighbours, both in material — stone — and in the social rank of those who lived there (A Noia da memoria, Pedro García Vidal, 1990). These seigneurial houses are examples of Gothic civic architecture, remnants of one of the town’s most prosperous periods.

Pazo do Forno do Rato

A Gothic house that is both tall and sturdy, yet knitted into the street by arcaded walkways and a balcony spanning the roadway. Listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural in 1981.
