Coliseo Noela Theatre

Opened on 24 April 1921 as a private venture. At first it staged zarzuela, theatre, lectures and concerts. In 1966 it was leased and used as a cinema until it closed in 1986.

It reopened in 1999 after rehabilitation by the architect Juan Roade, who kept the Italian-style auditorium and the Art Nouveau façade. Now municipally owned, the Coliseo Noela is a landmark venue for much of the town’s cultural life, together with the Antón Avilés de Taramancos cultural centre.
